iHacky Jon Lao Hong Nguyen Marcius Bagwan

iHacky Goals: Widen the social level of the developer community by popularizing their ways of software development using the Hackystat tool and Facebook. Increase the recognition of Hackystat. Provides a connection between developers that would normally be difficult.

iHacky importance: Provides a social mechanism for Hackystat. Exposes Hackystat to a wider audience. iHacky can provide a fun and competitive environment. Utilizes Facebook popularity and success Connects developers of various skills and levels.

iHacky as Open Source: Will keep iHacky as a high potential but low cost and risk application. Will keep iHacky development alive in the future. Will make iHacky better with more developers contributing to the system.

iHacky Business Values: Can utilize advertisements Provides highly experienced developers for employee seeking businesses. Gather additional insights on Software Engineering abilities and ideas. Increases the popularity of Hackystat for other sponsors.

iHacky Involvements: Jon Lao – He is an all around developer. Has knowledge and some experience with web application tools. Such as MySQL database, PHP5, configuration and server management. Jon is implementing the Facebook front end. Hong Nguyen – His strength lies in web design and implementation. Has great knowledge on web design technologies such as HTML and CSS. Hong is implementing the aesthetics side of iHacky along with PHP and MySQL. Marcius Bagwan – He is a strong analyzer and researcher. He has a knowledgable coding background in web applications. He is implementing the back end of iHacky along with the Hackystat framework.

iHacky Costs: iHacky has not cost any money at this point. iHacky has cost a great deal of time: 1.Learning – Hackystat, PHP5, MySQL, Dreamweaver, FBML, TCP, and SQL. 2.Configurations – server setups, environment setups, Facebook application setups. 3.Design & Implementation – feedbacks, Interfaces, features, usability, usefulness, PHP code, SQL queries.

iHacky Progress: Server setup – uploaded PHP5 libraries along with MySQL database. Created a iHacky database. Facebook setup – registered iHacky application in Facebook, acquired API keys, configured all iHacky configurations in order to run on Facebook. Environment setup – configured our computers to run PHP5 and MySQL on Dreamweaver. PHP and SQL code: ~2,200 lines of code.

iHacky First Milestone: Retrieve information from the Hackystat sensor base. Store Hackystat information in the MySQL database. Display Hackstat info from our database to the user’s iHacky page. Create a “profile” on the users’s iHacky main page.

Reasons For Further iHacky Development: Great Potential – increase Hackystat popularity, connects more developers together, gives Hackystat a social feature, can become a global application. Low Risk – does not effect other systems and has no financial risks. Low Cost – open source technologies, requires no special hardware or software.
