Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) TWIC Enrollment Contractor: Lockheed Martin

Marine Exchange of Alaska A non-profit maritime organization established to provide the Alaska maritime community information, communications and services to ensure safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible maritime operations.

Who needs a TWIC? All USCG licensed mariners Facility Security Officers Persons with security duties Anyone requiring “unescorted” access to the secure area of a regulated waterfront facility or vessel

Why? To provide an added layer of security at facilities and vessels by restricting access to authorized, cleared personnel.

When? Full compliance with TWIC required by Sept. 25th, 2008 Coast Guard will enforce after that date….if you are operating a vessel under the authority of your license after Sept 25th, you need a TWIC! Enrollment centers in Southeast Alaska opening by 1 May 2008.

How? Lockheed Martin is the enrollment contractor Four fixed enrollment centers in AK Anchorage Nikiski Valdez Juneau Mobile Enrollment Centers Initial Enrollment April 28 Card Issuance/Activation 7/21-8/1

TWIC Summary If you are a licensed operator you require a TWIC by Sept 25, 2008 when you are operating a vessel under the authority of your license Pre-enrollment will save time Cost is $105.25 Payment by credit card or cashier’s check…no cash or personal checks Crew on UPV (Uninspected Passenger Vessel) are not required to have TWIC Ketchikan Mobile Center: Enrollment: June 16th-July 18th Card Issuance: August 1st to August 29th
