World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (WBTi) Indicators Group ---2 Group Members ---- FSM Republic of Belau

Gaps: - Inadequate infant & young child feeding curriculum session plan - Inadequate of standard of guideline for mother friendly /child birth procedures & support Recommendations Develop a feeding curriculum to be used- Develop & disseminate the standard guidelines to all facilities & personnel providing maternity care and services Develop a systematic continuous in service training Enhance and integrate infant feeding & young child feeding information and skills into the existing training programs and in-services that is ongoing and provided within the country Indicator ---5

Gaps: -Not all women receive access all support & counselling on infant and young child feeding nor at birth for breastfeeding initiation -Lack of skilled and trained community based volunteers and health providers Recommendations Provide skill based training to all health workers and volunteers. Prenatal and antenatal supporting counselling to be provided to all the women Indicator ---6
