Measurement of the D  e form factor A. Oyanguren (IFIC, Valencia) J. Costa, A. D’Orazio, P. Roudeau, J. Serrano (LAL, Orsay)  To do list  Background control  Event selection Status report

Event selection A. Oyanguren AWG meeting April 072  Check fitting results using two selection criteria:  Looser cuts: Fcc > 0.16 ; Fbb > 0.2 (optimized for stat. signal significance)  Tight cuts for Fisher variables: Fcc > 0.25 ; Fbb > 1.1  m (GeV) signal (50%)  + uds (3%) bb Bkg. (5%) cc Bkg. (42%) data signal (40%)  + uds (3%) bb Bkg. (14%) cc Bkg. (43%) data MC scaled to the data luminosity  m (GeV) Run 4 ~ 100 fb-1  6363 evts evts

Event selection A. Oyanguren AWG meeting April 073  Fit results: 1) Tight cuts for Fisher variables: Fcc > 0.25 ; Fbb > 1.1 Nsignal = 2578 ± 177 Nbkg = 3785 ± 180  pole = 0.61 ± 0.09  Extended Likelihood 2D fit (RooFit based): N signal x PDF signal (  pole ; q 2 rec, cos  rec ) + N bkg x PDF bkg (q 2 rec, cos  rec ) Form factor:

Event selection A. Oyanguren AWG meeting April 074  Fit results: 1) Looser cuts for Fisher variables: Fcc > 0.16 ; Fbb > 0.2 Nsignal = 4697 ± 267 Nbkg = 8394 ± 274  pole = 0.65 ± 0.07

Background control A. Oyanguren AWG meeting April 075   m > 0.16 GeV: Fit to  k=cc,BB,uds+   N k (PDF k  m x PDF k q2 x PDF k cos  x PDF k H2/H0 ) BB cc uds+  cc (bkg+sig):  bb bkg:  light bkg:  Fit results (correction factors): mm q2q2 cos  H2/H0 mm q2q2 cos  H2/H0 corrected plots:

Background control A. Oyanguren AWG meeting April 076  Wrong sign  events  s   e   : Fit to  k=cc,BB,uds+   N k (PDF k dm x PDF k q2 x PDF k cos  x PDF k H2/H0 ) BB cc uds+  cc bkg:  bb bkg:  light bkg:  Fit results (correction factors): mm q2q2 cos  H2/H0 mm q2q2 cos  H2/H0 corrected plots

Background control A. Oyanguren AWG meeting April 077  Applying  m>0.16 corrections:  =  nbkg= 8394  274 nsig= 4698  267 fcn= (correction factors: 0.88 for cc, for bb, 1.34 for taus+uds)  =  nbkg= 8234  268 nsig= 4857  262 fcn= (  stable (  =0.0002), small improvent of the fit)

To do list A. Oyanguren AWG meeting April 078  In process: corrections from charm fragmentation in the signal PDF (effect seems to be <0.5   stat )  Redo ntuples with D  K  Run-4 energy smearing  Check results with Run2  Systematics from physics bkg (K*)  D  K  normalization  BAD in process  Systematics from MC bkg stat.
