Center for Special Needs

Problematic: In Reyhanli area, we count about 34 cases of patients with special needs: behavioral disorder, autism, dawn syndrome, needs for logo-therapy, need for acoustic devices, etc. No existing center in Reyhanli provides the needed services and devices for such patients.

Solution: The creation of a specialized Center in Reyhanli for patients with special needs. The Center will provide the patients and their families with the needed services and support such as information, training, activities, and medical devices.

Targeted Population: To identify and reach the patients with special needs in the Reyhanli area: the team will visit previously identified patients, schools, rehabilitation centers, orphanages, and institutions dealing with patients with special needs will leverage social media networks will distribute brochures.

Importance: The creation of a Center for patients with special needs in Reyhanli is highly important, especially for those children aged between 5 and 12 when self awareness and behavioral foundation take place. Families of these patients also need support and assistance to understand and manage the situation of their child..

Process: Specialists will define the needed program (daily, weekly, or monthly) Hold weekly sessions with quarterly evaluation to measure the progress Provide the adequate treatment for each case together with the necessary training for the family provide acoustic devices and logo-therapy that will be financed from selling handcrafts and paintings produced by the children. Financing will also be sought for from the local municipality as well as from specialized agencies.
