Scylla is a six headed sea monster and Charybdis is a whirlpool. Odysseus has to decide whether he sacrifices six of his men to Scylla or risks all of their lives by going through Charybdis.

How does Odysseys prevent Circe from turning him into an animal?

Hermes gives him a plant/flower that prevents Circe’s magic from working on him. He then is able to threaten her and have her turn his men back into humans.
