A More Desirable Love A More Desirable Love

Hebrews 13:1-8 (NET Bible) 1 Brotherly love must continue. 2 Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it. 3 Remember those in prison as though you were in prison with them, and those ill-treated as though you too felt their torment. 4 Marriage must be honored among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge sexually immoral people and adulterers. 5 Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”

Hebrews 13:1-8 (NET Bible) 6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke God’s message to you; reflect on the outcome of their lives and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!

We love people sacrificially 13:1 fellow Christians 13:2 those who need your home 13:3 prisoners for the Gospel 13:4 spouses 13:5-6 financial; business partners 13:7-8 leaders A More Desirable Love A More Desirable Love

1 Timothy 3:2-3 (NET Bible) The overseer then must be.... free from the love of money.

1 Timothy 6:9-10 (NET Bible) 9 Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.

Matthew 6:24 (NET Bible) 24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Luke 12:15 (NET Bible) 15 Then he said to them, “Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

We love people sacrificially …through hospitality A More Desirable Love A More Desirable Love

“The gift of hospitality is the special ability that God gives to certain members of the body of Christ to provide open arms, open house and warm welcome for those in need of friendship, a warm welcome, food and lodging.” A More Desirable Love A More Desirable Love

Hebrews 13:9-16 (NET Bible) 9 Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings. For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals, which have never benefited those who participated in them. 10 We have an altar that those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat from. 11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp.

Hebrews 13:9-16 (NET Bible) 12 Therefore, to sanctify the people by his own blood, Jesus also suffered outside the camp. 13 We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced. 14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. 15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name. 16 And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
