Worship Leader: We gather together in Jesus’ name All: Help us to explore, discover and learn together

Our School Family is made up of many different people of all ages – but we all love learning!

Why do you think going to school is important for us? In Vellore some children are not able to go to school as much as they want to – they may have to leave early in order to work to help support their family. Some schools have better equipment and better buildings than others. Poor children usually go to poor schools. But the good news is that, even if you are poor, if you work hard at school you could become an engineer, a doctor, or a……

Jesus knew how important education is too. When he was 12 years old he amazed the teachers at the university in the Temple with his knowledge.

When he was older Jesus spent a great deal of his time teaching people about God. We can now read his teaching in the Gospels.

This week’s Lent Challenge Bishop Stephen is challenging us to remember to do something to celebrate education in our school and around the world.

God our Father, We thank you for our school, and our friends and neighbours who help us and care for us here. We pray for those children around the world who struggle to get the education they need to help them improve their lives. Help us to build our school community on love and faith in you. Amen

Worship Leader: Go in peace to discover God’s world and your place in it. All: We go in Jesus’ name
