Social Pressure Adapted from: Melissa Rodgers © Jenison International Academy

 Adult Family  This does not just have to be your parents. Grandparents, step-parents, even neighbors – anyone you spend a great deal of time with who is older and influential.  Teachers  Peers  Media Sources of Pressure

social pressure by members of one's peer group to take a certain action, adopt certain values, or otherwise conform in order to be accepted peer pressure. (n.d.). Dictionary.com Unabridged. Retrieved April 27, 2014, from Dictionary.com website: pressurehttp://dictionary.reference.com/browse/peer pressure What is Peer Pressure?

 Often overlooked, this can have a huge impact on a young adult.  Pressure for all sorts of goals usually in the clause of “its for your own good” or “it is your responsibility”  Very similar to peer pressure, adults want their children to conform to their values and goals, to be successful in life.  Adult pressure can be just as positive or negative as peer pressure, sometimes even more.
