NIH Sepsis Study Key Lessons Learned – Small tests of change lead to rapid change – Front line staff are key to sustaining for every patient – Sepsis bundle implementation has to be validated and monitored – Opportunity lies in hospital onset, interfaces with Failure to Rescue – Lactic acid testing is a key component to implementation and patient outcomes – Saying sepsis out loud and in medical record changes outcomes – A Code Sepsis is an effective way to rapidly respond to suspected sepsis – Other? 15

Must complete an evaluation – Second topic call (no evaluation) – If you miss a call you can listen to the recording within 1 week. Complete eval if applicable, and notify topic lead that you listened to get credit. – In person meeting: May 1, 1- 4 pm. after regional HEN meeting, Renaissance Concourse, Atlanta Airport Data Submission: – Due 3 rd or each month – send to Lynne Hall TOC (1 for sepsis and 1 for additional topic area) Checklist (1 per hospital) – Worker Safety Data (if in WS group) Send to Jean Allred due 15 th of month (about 45 days after end of reporting month).
