ASME IX, 2004 EDITION QW-100 GENERAL Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code relates to the qualification of welders, welding operators, brazers, and brazing operators and procedures that they employ in welding and brazing according to ASME BPVC and the ASME B31 Code for Pressure Piping.

Witness Qualification Test ASME IX, 2004 EDITION Witness Qualification Test Before start welding : check all materials, equipments, position, personnel shall comply with reviewed WPS and list of welder QW-301.2 Qualification Tests Changes beyond which requalification is required are given in QW-350 for welder dan in QW-360 for welding operators. Allowable visual, mechanical and RT are described in QW-304 and QW-305 The welder or welding operator who prepares the WPS qualification test coupons meeting the requirements of QW-200 is also qualified within the limits of the performance qualifications, listed in QW-304 for welder and QW-305 for welding operators. He is qualified only within the limits for position specified in QW-303 The performance test may be terminated at any stage of the testing procedure, whenever it becomes apparent or welding operator does not have the required skill to produce satisfactory results.
