Danish is the main language in Denmark We learn English and German in school We understand Norwegian and Swedish Because our 3 countries were once united

 In Denmark we learn a lot different languages. Our main language is Danish which we speak all over the country. In school we learn a lot of English. We start learning English when we are about 9 years old. We also have English tests at the end of the school year. In school we also learn some German though we start learning it when we are a bit older than when we learn English. We also learn a little Norwegian and Swedish. We have always understood Norwegian and Swedish in Denmark because once our 3 countries were united in what we called the “Kalmar Union” and because of that our 3 languages are very much alike. You can compare it to Portuguese and Spanish

 Vikings: The Vikings were the Scandinavian explorers, warriors, and pirates who raided Europa from the 8th century to the 11th century. They are known all over the world, even today. The Vikings believed in the Nodic Mythology, until the start of the 10 century, where Christianity came to Scandinavia. The Nordic Mythology is known in many films, not only in Scandinavia, but also from the Americans. The movie ‘’Thor’’ and ‘’The Avengers’’ which is two famous American movies, are based on the Nordic Mythology. The Danish royal Family The Danish Monarchy is the oldest in Europa, and the second oldest right after the Japanese monarchy. The Danish monarchy as we know it started in the 18th century. But it all started in the 9th century, the first king was named ‘’Gorm den gamle’’ in Danish speech, which is translated to ‘’Gorm the old’’ in English. And from there on there have been more than 40 kings.

 The Danish monarchy is the oldest in the World. Established around the 8 th century by the first Danish king: Gorm The Old. Who was according to a legend was the first king of Denmark. His son Harald Bluetooth rose the Jelling stones which is the Danish version of the Declaration of Independence. The Danish Monarchy is probably one of if not the oldest monarchy in the world. In more recent times the Danish kings are named either Christian or Frederik. On June the 5 th 1849 Denmark became a constitutional monarchy. A peaceful march was made in Copenhagen and the king met the protesters. And a constitutional monarchy was formed. A constitutional monarchy is where the parliament and the then ruling king of Denmark his majesty King Frederick VII of Denmark both rule in unison. So both the royalty and the people is heard. Today Denmark is ruled by Queen Margaret II of Denmark. And the crown prince is Prince Frederik.
