P robability means a way to measure the chances that something will occur in relation to the possible alternatives. There are three factors in which a coral must have so that it may survive. These three things are ; warm water, shallow area, and rough waves. There are also some things that can kill the coral. Global Warming for example affects the survival of the coral. Another thing that affects its survival is cyanide which is a deadly poison divers dump into the reefs.

Variance is a value that is used to describe how far away the data is from the mean.

Theoretical Distribution Curve (tdc) is a theoretical or ideal picture of a distribution based upon random sampling.

A t-test is an equation designed to test whether there is a significant difference between the means of two independent samples, those of your treatment and control groups. This equation is used to calculate a t-statistic for the two means ( X 1, X 2 ). The equation also has the number of items in each group (n 1, n 2 ), and the pooled variance which is what the s 1 2 and s 2 2 stands for. This equation is used to calculate the pooled variance. The s 1 2 and s 2 2 this time is the variance for each group. The S P 2 stands for pooled variance.

A Chi-Square Test is a statistical formula that can be used to see if there is any significant differences between a data set. Me and a few others formed a group to play a sea turtle hatchling game. The point of the game is to try and get to the end without losing all of the 25 sea turtles you start off with. The game has five board which are called “beach sites”. After we finished the game we conducted a Chi Test (pronounced Ki-Test) to determine if there are any significant differences between the survival rates of each of the beach sites. When we used the chi-test, we found out that the p-value of the data is Since the p-value is smaller than 0.05, we reject the null hypothesis ( There will be no difference between sea turtle hatchling survival rates on the different beach sites), and accept the alternative hypothesis which is that there will be a difference between sea turtle hatchling survival rates on the different beach sites.
