Themes: revenge; hesitation; family conflict; power; responsibility By the end of the lesson you will have: Level 5 created a dark and gloomy mood of Act 1 scene 1 with voice and body sounds Level 6 used drama techniques to show the dark and gloomy atmosphere of Act 1 scene 1 Level 7 used drama techniques confidently to create a sinister and foreboding atmosphere in Act 1 scene 1 Performing Shakespeare 31/10/11

Watch the video clip and complete your grid Act 1, scene 1 – an open place. Thunder and lightning. Enter three witches. FIRST WITCH: When shall we three meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
