Survey of Income and Program Participation Measures Income and Program Participation over time Longitudinal panels – Details vary for each panel – About 50,000 households nationally at start of panel – Panel followed for 2-1/4 to 4 yrs – Interviewed every 3 or 4 months VERY detailed questions Topical panels

Economic Census Census of Businesses – Excludes Agriculture & Government sectors Some specific industries covered by other sources Timing – Covers years ending in 2 and 7 – Conducted in years ending in 3 and 8 Sampling – All multi-establishment firms – All businesses over a certain size – Sample of businesses under threshold
