Describe the influence of the French and the English on the language and religion of Canada.  Essential Question: How did the French and English influence the Language and Religion of Canada?

The Influence of the French and the English on the Language and Religion of Canada The Europeans that settled Canada came from Great Britain and France. When they came over they brought their languages and Religion with them Great Britain took over most of what is now Canada

The Influence of the French and the English on the Language and Religion of Canada The British gained control of Canada as a result of the French and Indian War. Click on Photo    Canada did not have to fight for their independence but were granted their independence from Great Britain.

The Influence of the French and the English on the Language and Religion of Canada Today, Nearly 70% of Canadian’s speak English because their ancestors spoke English. However, because there were French settlers, 20% of Canadians speak French as their first language. English and French are their official languages.
