MAN’S FLOOD! GOD’S FLOOD!

WHY NOAH? WHY WAS NOAH CHOSEN ABOVE ALL OTHERS TO BUILD THE ARK? WHY WAS NOAH CHOSEN ABOVE ALL OTHERS TO SURVIVE THE FLOOD? WHY WAS NOAH CHOSEN ABOVE ALL OTHERS TO START OVER THE HUMAN RACE?

THE REASON!

SCRIPTURE “BUT NOAH FOUND FAVOR (GRACE) IN THE EYES OF THE LORD. THESE ARE THE RECORDS OF THE GENERATIONS OF NOAH. NOAH WAS A RIGHTEOUS MAN, BLAMELESS IN HIS TIME; NOAH WALKED WITH GOD. AND NOAH BECAME THE FATHER OF THREE SONS: SHEM, HAM AND JAPHETH. GENESIS 6:8-10 “THUS NOAH DID ACCORDING TO ALL THAT GOD HAD COMMANDED HIM TO DO.” GENESIS 6:22

SCRIPTURE “THEN THE LORD SAID TO NOAH, ‘Enter the ark, you and all your household; for you alone I have seen to be righteous before me in this time.’” GENESIS 7:1 “AND NOAH DID ACCORDING TO ALL THAT THE LORD HAD COMMANDED HIM.” GENESIS 7:5 “BY FAITH NOAH, BEING WARNED BY GOD ABOUT THINGS NOT YET SEEN, IN REVERENCE PREPARED AN ARK FOR THE SALVATION OF HIS HOUSEHOLD, BY WHICH HE CONDEMNED THE WORLD, AND BECAME AN HEIR OF THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS ACCORDING TO FAITH.” HEBREWS 11:7

THE EYES OF GOD “GOD SAW…” Gen. 6:2 “AND THE LORD SAW…” Gen. 6:5 “…IN THE SIGHT OF GOD” Gen. 6:11 “AND THE LORD LOOKED…” Gen. 6:12 “I HAVE SEEN…” Gen. 7:1

THE EYES OF GOD – WHAT IS GOD LOOKING FOR?

WHAT DID GOD SEE IN NOAH? 1.A RIGHTEOUS MAN (6:9) 2.A BLAMELESS MAN (6:9) 3.A MAN WHO WALKED WITH GOD (6:9) 4.AN OBEDIENT MAN(6:22, 7:5) 5.A MAN OF FAITH(Heb. 11:7)

WHAT DID GOD SEE IN NOAH? A TIME TESTED BELIEVER IN CHARACTER IN CONSISTENCY IN COMMITMENT IF YOU WALK ‘IN-STEP’ WITH GOD – YOU WILL WALK ‘OUT-OF-STEP’ WITH THE WORLD!

I “NOAH” PERSON (Do you “Noah” person?) I am that person! I am a “Noah” kind of person!

“Then God said to Noah, “…the earth is filled with violence and I am about to destroy the earth. BUILD AN ARK.” (Genesis 6:13) “I am bringing flood waters upon the earth…” BUILD AN ARK! (Genesis 6:17) MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED!

BUILD AN ARK! The Material “Make yourself an ark of gopher wood…and cover it inside and out with pitch” (Genesis 6:14) MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE ENOUGH!

“And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark, three hundred cubits, it’s breadth, fifty cubits, and it’s height, thirty cubits. You shall make a window for the ark…and set the door of the ark in the side of it; You shall also make it with a lower, a second and a third deck.” (Genesis 6:15-16)

THE DIMENSIONS 450 FEET LONG (150 feet longer than a football field) 75FEET WIDE 45FEET HIGH (over 100,000 sq. feet of floor space) (1.5 million cubic feet of storage space) (storage capacity of 560 railroad cars) MAKE SURE IT IS BIG ENOUGH!

LESSONS FROM NOAH AND THE ARK

3.A LESSON ON CONFIDENCE! NOAH’S ARK WAS A PLACE OF SECURITY AND SAFETY, BEING “PITCHED” WITHIN AND WITHOUT! the Hebrew word for “pitch” is the word “atonement” THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST MAKES US SAFE AND SECURE WITHIN AND WITHOUT!

LESSONS FROM NOAH AND THE ARK
