Zambia Active Parasite Detection (APD) 2011 Questionnaire

Objectives of APD Zambia APD objectives: –Work with districts and local communities in areas of low malaria transmission to develop a comprehensive strategy to actively test and treat individuals –Indentify and train community health workers; and health facility staff in malaria parasite infection testing and treatment in their communities –Implement a systematic active malaria parasite detection campaign strategies at the rural health center level. –Strengthen the capacity of the NMCC and local agencies in implementation of APD.

Indicators – Malaria and malaria- related burden % malaria parasite prevalence, in children and adults –Using ICT Malaria Pf (RDT) –Using blood films and filter paper % anemia prevalence in children –Hemocue Hb photometers

Indicators – Malaria Prevention % households sprayed % households with insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITNs) Average number of ITNs per household % children sleeping under ITNs % pregnant women sleeping under ITNs % all ages sleeping under ITNs
