US Youth Ambassadors Program with Brazil Participants from around the US begin with a Pre-Departure Orientation in Washington D.C. Orientation and Teambuilding in Brasília. The group will then be divided into 2 cohorts and travel to one of two Host Communities in Brazil. The program ends in Rio de Janeiro where students will create social action plans to implement at home in the U.S. Open to students & adult mentors nationwide!

US Youth Ambassadors Program with Argentina and Chile Participants from around the U.S. begin the program with a Pre-Departure Orientation in Washington D.C. Orientation and Teambuilding in Santiago, Chile. The group will then be divided into 2 cohorts and travel to one of two host communities (one in Argentina, one in Chile) The program ends in Buenos Aires, Argentina where students will create social action plans to implement at home in the U.S. Open to students & adult mentors nationwide!

US Youth Leadership Program with Belarus 10 participants from around the US will join 30 participants from Belarus The program will begin with a week of leadership and teambuilding activities in Charlottesville, VA at the renowned University of Virginia campus The group will then be divided into 3 cohorts and travel to one of three Host Communities in the US. The program ends in Washington, DC where students will create social action plans to implement at home in the U.S. Open to students nationwide!

US - Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program 10 participants from around the US will join 30 participants from Iraq and begin with a week of leadership and teambuilding activities in Brattleboro, Vermont The group will then be divided into 3 cohorts and travel to one of three Host Communities in the US: Chicago, IL, Portland, OR; and Louisville, KY. The program ends in Washington, DC where students will create social action plans to implement at home in the U.S. Open to students from Chicago, IL; Portland, OR; Louisville, KY; Washington, DC; & Vermont!

Sample Day at Host Community Breakfast with host family Meet up with group Participate in a workshop with a local NGO on advocacy and civic engagement Lunch at a downtown market Volunteer with local high school students at a local urban farm Sightseeing in the city Debrief and discussion on the day Free night with host families – dinner, shopping, movies, cooking, family activities, sightseeing, hang with host siblings, etc.

General Eligibility Must be a U.S. citizen Must be years old Must have a high school graduation date of 2017 or later Must have at least 1 year of high school remaining after the exchange Must have parental/guardian permission

Application Process Each program requires applicants fill out an online application. Competitive applicants will be invited to interview. The online application asks biographical questions, as well as essay questions that are meant to demonstrate your interest in the program, leadership skills, and desire to benefit your community You will also need 2 letters of recommendation from teachers or mentors who can speak to your potential

What do we look for in an applicant? Someone who: Meets all eligibility requirements Demonstrates their personality through their application- there’s no formula, we want to get to know YOU! Cares about their community and utilizing their new skills and experiences from the program when they return home Is excited by the opportunity to try new things, meet new people, and step out of their comfort zone
