Presentation transcript:

Does he look more like his mother or father? In what facial feature?

By the end of today's lesson, I will be able to: (1) identify variations within a species (blood type, and height) (2) define: variation and feature

What are genes? –Children get genes from both parents –Genes determine how you look: skin color and hair color, and shape of body parts. What are features? –characteristics or traits on a person's body

I will be able to: (1) identify variations within a species (blood type, and height) (2) define: variation and feature What is blood? –the body's liquid that transports nutrients to cells and waste out of body cells Are all blood the same? –4 types of blood –Blood transfusion

I will be able to: (1) identify variations within a species (blood type, and height) (2) define: variation and feature What are Variation? –different types of one thing hair: black, gray, blonde, red, orange, etc. Foot size: 1ft, 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, etc. height: 1ft, 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, etc.

Activity sheet I will be able to: (1) identify variations within a species (blood type, and height) (2) define: variation and feature
