Focusing on the family again HOMESCHOOLING & PUBLIC SCHOOLING:

Student success isn’t just based on the type of education method; what’s happening at home is important too! Parents that are involved with their children’s education help them do better! WHY THE FAMILY MATTERS

 What a parent believes about their own responsibility in educating their children  Whether a parent believes they are capable of helping their children succeed  When a parent believes their way of teaching better suits their motives, and covers what they believe is important WHAT MOTIVATES PARENTS

 Some people believe that the responsibility lies on teachers for the success of students  There are also studies that claim that homeschooling produces better results on standardized test, and overall more successful students >But is this really true? BUT WHAT ABOUT THE METHODS?

 “New Study Shows Homeschooler Succeeding in College”  “Home-Schooling: Outstanding Result on National Tests” These studies both claim that homeschoolers are ahead of the curve.  One says that homeschoolers that were studied did better in college than a similar sized group of public school students.  The other study looked at how homeschoolers were producing great results on standardized testing. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE METHODS?

WE STILL GET SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS Both public school students and homeschool students succeed, which means both types of education can produce successful students! The nature of homeschooling makes it difficult to have comprehensive results, so until that time it will be difficult to judge just how successful it is. Based on “Understanding Homeschooling”

No matter what way you spin it the fact is there are several different things that contribute to one student’s success and another student’s failure. Obviously, the public school system is not perfect, but it does produce successful students, as does homeschooling PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IS KEY
