TRIANGLES AND TYPES OF TRIANGLES

A triangle has three sides

A triangle has three angles

TYPES OF TRIANGLES Two Ways On the basis of angles On the basis of sides

On the basis of ANGLES Three types Acute triangle Right triangle Obtuse triangle

Acute angled triangle A triangle with all acute angles is called an ACUTE TRIANGLE.

Right angled triangle A triangle with one right angle is called a RIGHT TRIANGLE.

Obtused angled triangle A triangle with one obtuse angle is called an OBTUSE TRIANGLE.

On the basis of sides Three types Equilateral triangle Isosceles triangle Scalene triangle

Equilateral triangle A triangle with all equal length sides is called an equilateral triangle.

Isosceles triangle A triangle with 2 sides that are the same length is called an isosceles triangle.

Scalene triangle A triangle with all sides of different lengths is called a scalene triangle.

Recap A triangle with all equal length sides is called… A triangle with all sides of different lengths is called… A triangle with one 90° angle is called… A triangle with 3 angles that are less than 90° is called…
