Seminar 2: 20 March 2014 Children and young people’s views on and experiences of intersecting identities and inequalities: facilitating participation and extending the dialogue Children’s Parliament, Investing in Children and LGBT Youth Scotland What are children and young people’s perspectives on and experiences of intersecting identities and inequalities? What does it mean to live at the intersections and why do these matter? How do children and young people experience multiple and intersecting privileges, disadvantages and power? How can we promote children and young people’s participation in identifying, understanding and addressing these issues?

What research approaches do we need, to enable academic/practice/policy work to contribute to processes that promote social justice and equity? What methodological approaches do we need to adopt to ensure participatory processes that will ensure that children’s views, particularly from marginalised groups, are not silenced?
