“I have many people in this city” Acts 18:1-11

Acts 18:9-11 “ do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city”

1. God shows us how big his property is.

Psalm 100:1 “Shout for joy to the Lord , all the earth.” Psalm 22:27 “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord , and all the families of the nations will bow down before him.”

Acts 1:8 “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

2. The vision is an encouragement for doing God’s work.

Matthew 28: 20 “surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'”

"What are you doing here, Elijah?“ He replied, "I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too."

"Go back the way you came…, Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him." （First Kings 19:10-18）

3. it’s our responsibility to share the gospel with more people.

Psalm 67 : “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. ……God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.”

4. This vision brings joy, hope and love as we look to the future.

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

A prayer: Every animal of the forest is yours, and the cattle on a thousand hills. (Psalm 50:10)

I have many people in this city! This is God’s world!
