 Robert Cavelier Sieur de La Salle.  Monumental expedition from France  Instead, colonists landed on the coast of Texas,  Began a doomed journey. LEADER:

In 1684 Established a colony near Mississippi River warm-water port La Salle missed Texas coast. Turned back Sailed home to France. La Belle, sank to the muddy bottom of Matagorda Bay.

 Ship #3 lead by Robert Cavelier Sieur de La Salle.  Was a supply ship.  Freeze- day  40 people aboard.

There were over 80 barrels which included: plates and bowls cooking pots utensils chess backgamm on pieces buckles from clothing
