ART OF THE AGE BY – MATT PRESTON ELSWICK

MUSIC The time period of the Vietnam War held a lot of history’s most popular music all for the fact that it was when a new genre of music was emerging and that is Rock. It started with the invention of the electric guitar and evolved onward. One of the most well-known performers from this era would be Elvis Presley. This is one of my favorite songs from this time period. It is Fortunate Son by Creedence ClearWater Revival.

ART One of the most interesting things about the Vietnam War’s art is that most of the art created in that time period were actually BASED on the war. This is because this war was the first war to be televised and really recognized by the public in the way that people could VISUALLY see what was going on there without having to be there.

MAJOR ARTISTS Some of the most world wide artists were at work during the Vietnam War. For example, Andy Warhol made one of the most famous paintings of the 1900’s. Although, there was some art, music was the most popular from of art around this time.
