Yesterday’s closing: Write: I will turn in my warm- ups and closings on Friday at the end of class to the appropriate tray whether Mrs. Williams asks for them or not.

2x + 3 = 15 An equation has 2 sides: a left side and a right side ** The left side is equivalent to the right side

 The goal is to isolate the variable.  We did this previously, but we did not justify the steps we took.  Today we will review solving multistep equations including properties of equality to justify our steps.

Properties of Equality

Complete the Algebraic Properties Worksheet ( front & back ) You have 20 minutes. We will work 10 minutes silently, and then for 10 minutes you may collaborate with your classmates to identify solutions.

Take out the Solve Equations and Justify Worksheet you picked up on the way in to class.

Complete the remainder of the Solve Equations and Justify Worksheet. You will have a short quiz as your ticket out the door.

Closing & Homework: Closing: You will have a quiz Monday over the Properties of Equality. What will you do to memorize them between now and then? HW: Complete pages 49 – 50 in your Explorations in Core Math Workbook
