Spielst du gern Volleyball? Sammelst du Briefmarken? Remember- Use the familiar form of you ( du) when asking a friend. Was machst du gern? Spielst du gern Volleyball? Schwimmst du? Sammelst du Briefmarken?

How would you report someone else’s interests?

Suzanne tanzt, wandert, und spielt Gitarre. Suzanne: tanzen, wandern, Gitarre spielen remember the she form of the verb ( t ending) Suzanne tanzt, wandert, und spielt Gitarre.

Ich spiele… Ich tanze. Ich lese gern. How would you tell some of the things you do? Verb ends with e Ich spiele… Ich tanze. Ich lese gern.

How would you say what activities you like and don’t like to do?

gern = to like nicht gern = not to like

Ich spiele gern Fußball. Ich spiel nicht gern Golf. Remember that gern and nicht gern follow the verb.

How would you ask a classmate what he or she likes to do and report that information to someone else?

How would you ask Katharina and Ute what they like to do and report what they say? Use casual speech with two friends. The plural familiar form of you (y’all) is ihr.

How would you ask your teacher if he or she plays basketball or chess, or If she collects stamps?

You would probably use formal speech. you, polite = Sie. The Sie form of the verb is en.
