Scripture Prayers Colossians 1:3-14

Prayers: 1. Give thanks for their faith in Jesus, love for brethren, hope of heaven. 2. Ask for knowledge of God’s will in wisdom /spiritual understanding. 3. Ask for faith walk which pleases God.

Prayers: 4. Pray for fruit of good works and a increase in their knowledge of God. 5. Ask for inner strength and God’s power. 6. Ask for God to work patience, endurance and joy.

Prayers: 7. Thank God for their part in His inheritance with all the brethren. 8. Claim their deliverance from the power of darkness/satan. 9. Claim their salvation and pardon through the blood of Jesus.

Important words: praying: an earnest request ask: beg, crave, desire His will: desire, pleasure, will spiritual understanding: super-natural intelligence walk: your behavior, way of life worthy: in a Godly manner

Important words: pleasing: compliant, submissive, yielding fruitful: fertile, that which bears fruit increasing: growing knowledge: full discernment, perception strengthened: enabled by His power patience: cheerfully remaining under your problem

Important words: longsuffering: long tempered, self-restraint in face of provocation joy: cheerfulness; calm delight delivered: rescued from a rapid current redemption: releasing on payment of a ransom forgiveness: the sending away of your sins!!

Sample prayer: God I thank you for _______'s faith in Jesus, love for the brethren, hope of heaven. Fill _______ with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. May _______ walk by faith in a worthy manner. Make _______ fruitful in all he/she does. Increase _______'s knowledge of You.
