Introduction Second Life (SL) is a virtual world developed by Linden Lab that launched on June 23, 2003 and is accessible via the Internet. Linden Lab was established by Philip Rosedale in Residents of this life are called avatars.

Membership in Second Life A basic membership costs nothing and allows you to create an avatar and look around the world. After basic membership, to buy land, you'll need to upgrade to a premium membership. Premium membership costs $9.95 a month.

How to Create Basic Account First, check the system requirements Then, go to click on Get Started to create an account. Get Started When you sign up for an account, you create an avatar name and select a generic avatar look, which can later be modified.

Cont.. A link will be sent to your provided address, which will activate your account and direct you to download the software application. You can then log onto Second Life using the avatar name and password that you selected when creating the account.
