Primary vs. Secondary Sources Your primary source will be the text that you’ve chosen to focus on. The secondary sources will be books, chapters, articles, essays, criticisms, etc that are related to your primary source. For Example: If you working on Hamlet, your primary source will be Hamlet and your secondary sources will be essays or articles on Hamlet, such as T.S.
