The Evolution Of Clocks By: Christine Taqtaq

The First Minute Hand In 1577, Jost Burji invented the minute hand clock. They are getting smaller.

The First Pendulum Clock In 1656, the first pendulum was invented by Christian Huygens. They tell us what is the time. The Pendulum clock is almost like the Grandfather clock.

Alarm Clock An early prototype of the alarm clock was invented by Greeks, in A alarm clock that can be set to sound a bell or buzzer at a desired hour. The alarm clock tells us what time it is. We could choose when we want it to ring.

The Wrist Watch In 1504, the first wrist watch was made. It was made by Peter Helein. A watch is a small, portable timepiece that is made to be worn on a person. It is usually a wristwatch, attached to the wrist with a strap or bracelet. Clocks tell us what time it is.

The Quartz Clock In 1927, Warren Marrison made the Quartz. He developed a very large highly accurate clock.

Pocket Watch A pocket watch is a watch that is made to be carried in a pocket, as opposed to a wristwatch which is strapped to the wrist. Peter Henlein invented the Pocket watch in 1900BC.
