Rural Energy For America Program (REAP) Feasibility Study Grant Program Certain renewable energy system projects must include a business level feasibility study to be submitted to be considered for a Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Grant and/or Loan Guarantee. Such feasibility studies are now an eligible purpose under the REAP for which a grant may be awarded. –Energy grants may be used to pay up to 25 percent of the eligible project costs up to $50,000.

Rural Energy For America Program (REAP) Feasibility Study Grant Program –Idaho had 5 applications in Four were complete and eligible and were submitted for funding consideration and were awarded grant funds: –Arkoosh Hydroelectric, Inc. – Grant request for $12,500 for a commercial scale hydroelectric facility on the Little Wood River. –Preston Whitney Irrigation Company – Grant request for $12,500 for a hydroelectric facility in their irrigation canals. –Innovative Energy, LLC. – Grant request of $50,000 for a 20MW wind farm in the Delco area. –Murphy Flat Wind LLC. – Grant request of $50,000 for a 20MW wind farm in the Murphy area.

Rural Energy For America Program (REAP) Results for 2009

Energy Programs  Biorefinery Assistance Program (Section 9003) Loan guarantees up to $250 million for commercial scale biorefineries. Grants (up to 50% of total project) for demonstration scale biorefineries.

Energy Programs  Repowering Assistance (Section 9004) Payments to existing biorefineries (including ethanol and biodiesel plants) which use fossil fuels for heat or power to help convert to renewable biomass.
