The Job Application process, The written Job Presentation… 2

Opening Section…. 1)…Heading. Information in the heading tells the reader where you can be contacted. ( A )… Your name, address (Home or School), Telephone numbers, Fax number or address. 3

(B)… Your Job career objectives. Based on your self assessment of the job market, you should apply for a single sentence statement of your goal. Such a statement may be general or specific. 4

You now face another decision what area should be in second position in resume. Peoples tends to remember “first” that’s why a general rule is put the most important qualification immediately after the heading. 5

2)… Education. Here are some recommendations (suggestion) regarding what to include under the heading Education. a)… Include school names, locations, dates attended, and degrees of certificates earned. 6

b)… Decide whether should include your grade point average. Certainly if it is high, it should be included. If your grade points is low, omit it. c)… Determine whether to specific courses completed. 7

3)… Work Experience. The third section of a resume is usually devoted to work experience. Here you include the information that helps employers evaluate whether necessary background for a certain position. Clearly, work experience similar to that for which you are applying indicates you like the type of work s. 8

List your jobs in reverse chronological order, put the present or most recent one first. Keep in mind the following points. 1.. Give the name, location, and dates of employment for each company. 2… Insert your position and title, if any, beside each company. 9

4)… Achievements, awards, Service, Activities. Try to limit your resume to one page. If you have received few noteworthy awards, this information may be omitted or included in sections on education and work experience. Receiving any award deserves mention in a resume. 10

4)… Personal Data (optional). Including personal information is now entirely (completely) optional. 11

5)… References. Employers today often ask prior to or just after an interview for a list references. Including a long list of individuals in a resume is becoming less usual. Potential (capable of becoming active) employers know you will select persons who will evaluate you positively. 12

1… Limit your list to three individuals, complete with information about where they may be reached via phone, fax, letter, or . 2… Avoid including relatives as references. 3… Choose individuals former work supervisors, professors, teachers, colleagues, or business friends. 4… Be sure you have the permission of the individual whose name you use as a reference. 13
