Up in the clouds …. How are clouds formed? Warm moist air rises because it is less dense. As it rises it cools and becomes more dense so it can’t hold.

All About Clouds!. How are clouds formed? Clouds are formed when warm air rises. This air expands and cools. Because cool air can’t hold as much water.

Warm Up: What is a CLOUD? Cloud -- a visible mass of liquid droplets or frozen crystals made of water and small particles suspended in the troposphere.

Cloud NOTES On the front of your notes- cut and glue the definitions! On the back of your notes- draw the picture! Keep these for ALL eternity! And study them, too!

Cirrus Clouds Wispy, feathery clouds made of ice crystals usually associated with pleasant weather

Cumulus Clouds Fluffy clouds that are in the sky on nice days usually associated with fair weather

Stratus Clouds A flat layer of gray clouds that cover the sky like a blanket and is associated with rain and drizzle.

Cumulonimbus Clouds Giant thunderhead clouds associated with violent thunderstorms.

Watch This! Clouds Sheet: read  highlight  answer! Can you make a cloud at home?
