Dr. Krishna Sankaran Rockford Nominee

Dr. Krishna Sankaran Board certified in: – Nephrology and Internal Medicine Fellowship: – Northwestern University School of Medicine Residency: – Illinois Masonic - Chicago Internship: – Illinois Masonic - Chicago MD Degree: – University of Illinois College of Medicine - Rockford

He is a Rockford nephrologist who lectures to M2 students, and teaches M3 and M4 students in the hospitals. He is a great physician, teacher, and patient advocate. He treats patients and medical students with respect and tremendous compassion. He is an extremely effective teacher, and can break down even the most complex topic into something comprehensible for the medical student level. He takes time while rounding on patients to point out pertinent teaching points and involves the student in making care plans. He is patient and kind and truly a great physician who embodies a great humanist.

“Dr. Sankaran always takes time away from a busy day to teach students on the wards and in lectures. He will even seak a nearby student out if there is an interesting case or follow-up on a previously discussed case. He puts great effort into making cases for lectures that taught points that have been my foundational education in clinical nephrology. He is a wonderfully approachable and motivating mentor that is generous with his time, a very valuable resource considering his busy schedule.”

“Dr. Sankaran intentionally seeks out medical students on the floor to interact with them. He respects us as if we were his peers, and seeks to foster the many ways we as students can contribute in the clinical setting. His teaching draws on common sense and logical thinking, which make complex kidney processes much more manageable to understand.”
