THE SOIL

Soils are complex mixtures of minerals, water, air, organic matter.

The soil is the “skin of the earth”.

Soil is the most vital element required for food production.

Sandy: Large particles, less water retention, easily crumbles through the fingers. Clay: fine particles, Smooth when dry, Sticky when wet, Rich in nutrients. Loam: Retains water, Retains nutrients, Soft and crumbly.

Sandy clay loamy

We can use the soil to build a house, for planting, to sculpture

We have to recycle, clean and plant trees
