Operational Changes First visit for treatment must be within 7 days of first date of incapacity Second visit must be within 30 days of first date of incapacity Re-certification can be requested every six months (request was yearly previously) Compensatory Time Off (CTO) can be used for FMLA

Operational Changes Provisional Leave Designation Notice sent in 5 days Leave is denied (not delayed) when certification is not received Counting holiday time

Operational Changes Retroactive Designation Contacting Health Care Providers Employees must follow call-in procedures Denial of leave subjects absences to departmental attendance policies

Military Caregiver Leave Does not run concurrently with non-military FMLA Military Caregiver Leave runs first Eligibility is not determined twice Leave does not roll over and cannot be taken yearly Leave cannot exceed 26 workweeks in a 12-month period

Military Caregiver Leave 26 workweeks is a one-time entitlement per injury, per service member Only for current service members injured in the line of duty on active duty

Qualifying Exigency Leave 12 workweeks for qualifying exigency Leave is related to active service members call to active duty Short-notice deployments Military events and activities related to active duty deployment
