Unit 5 Review Wordle was a popular discussion topic. Many of you analyzed the emphasis it placed on the text passage you used. Some of you changed your text to make your final Wordle diagram look right. Above is this text in Wordle form.

Unit 5 Review One student used Spicy Nodes. Thank you for showing us how you used it.

This student did four versions and got it right! This is a good example. You can see how her thinking shifted. Good work. Unit 5 Review

Just like the previous slide, this student changed his image many times and got it right! Notice how the information becomes more clear in each version of change. I also like how he hierarchically showed everything he created. Unit 5 Review

Will this student give me permission to use this? I will give you credit. I am presenting to the Nursing faculty in a few weeks and I know they would love this. Unit 5 Review

This student went the extra mile and did one of the best visualizations of the Hawaiian Islands that I’ve seen yet! Go to Joseph Marler’s thread inside the Unit 5 Gallery to see his work in Flash (if you have not already done so.) Unit 5 Review

This project is a good example of using all the chapters so far … good shape, good color, good type, good figure/ground, good hierarchy Unit 5 Review

Here you see an improved name for the pie chart. Nationalities of Inventors is a better description than Frequency. This is also a good example of how working with data often makes you understand it better. For the first version frequencies did make sense, but the second version makes even more sense. Sometimes it these tiny changes make a big improvement. Unit 5 Review

Just a quick note. Unit 6 is a present, you get an extra week to complete the project. Make it really good. You will also be happy to know that all you need to do this unit is to take the Unit 6 quiz and post your final 10 images. You do not need to write a justification (visual project before and after paper) for this unit, or tell us what usability advice you were given. Just post your final 10 images and label each one according to the principle used. With that said, however, don’t be shy about asking your usability team partner to preview your work, it never hurts to get a second opinion. Because it is the final unit, and people will be turning their work in gradually over the next three weeks, we will not be doing a Unit 6 summary. I’ll will try to add comments as you post your work. As always, let us know if you have questions or concerns.
