Conferencing The Writer’s Job in a Conference

During a Writing Conference O Your job is to talk to the teacher, or a writing partner, about your thinking.

During a Writing Conference O Teacher will want to know 3 things: O What you are trying to do as a writer. O What you have done so far. O What you are planning to do next.

During a Writing Conference O Today this will be a “thinking” activity. O Teacher poses this question to students: O “What are you working on as a writer?” O (Think on this silently for 30 seconds) Now turn to a partner and share what you are thinking. O Other questions to think about: O What are you trying to do as a writer? O What will you do today in your writing?

Let’s Get to Writer’s Workshop O Continue working on your narrative pieces. O Remember to keep out and use the exemplar text that I gave you—”Caught in the Act!” O Use your Personal Narrative Organizer as a guide. O Remember to use great details, adjectives, strong verbs, metaphors, similes, dialogue, grabber…etc.
