Depletion of the Ozone Layer. Ameer Rum.

What is the Ozone Layer? The Sun brings down Ultraviolet rays, the ozone layers job is to protect the earth from it. The ozone layer lies in the Stratosphere. The ozone layer is 30 miles above earth. At the top it contains Ozone. Ozone is a bluish Color, made up of three atoms of Oxygen. If Ozone was able to reach the inner part of the planet, it’s a pollutant.

What’s so important about the Ozone Layer? Most people Assume the Ozone Layer doesn’t do much, they think it’s something that can be resolved on it’s own, but what everyone doesn’t realize is the Ozone Layer Protects human/animal Life from Getting hit with Ultra Violet Rays.

What’s the positive side to UV rays? Ultra violet rays contain Vitamin D inside, our body needs vitamin D which can decrease our chances of getting internal diseases. Such as Colon Cancer It’s also good for sterilization.

What’s the Negative Side about UV Rays? If stayed in front of UV rays for too long is not healthy, increases your risk of skin cancer, peels off & isn’t healthy for you’re body.

What’s causing Ozone Depletion ? There are two main chemicals which cause Ozone Depletion chlorofluorocarbons and bromofluorocarbon. Removing these chemicals although is expensive and nearly impossible, Scientists believe by the year 2050 the Ozone should be back to normal.

What’s causing Ozone Depletion ? (Continuation) You cannot stop the creation of Ozone, Scientists although have decided to speed it up, which caused a million of Ozone to grow weekly, but a million of Ozone to vanish weekly.

Fun Facts: Ozone is important for all life on our planet because ozone layer protects us from excessive ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Scientists are still not certain whether ozone depletion is somewhat connected with the decrease of Antarctic ice or not Ozone hole above Antarctica typically starts in September and lasts till early December Scientists still haven't discovered concrete evidence that would link ozone depletion to higher incidence of skin cancer in human beings.
