On this day, June 29th… 1997: Harry Potter gets a note from Dumbledore, telling him they are to seek out a Horcrux. While on the way to the Headmaster's Tower, Harry meets Sybill Trelawney, who reveals to him that Severus Snape was the one who overheard the Prophecy and told part of its contents to Voldemort, and thus was, to some degree, responsible for the the Potters' murders. Harry travels with Dumbledore to a seaside cave and retrieves the false Horcrux, while attacked by Inferi. Harry and Dumbledore return to Hogwarts, Dumbledore is confronted by Draco Malfoy and Death Eaters atop the Astronomy Tower. A battle has ensued downstairs. Severus Snape kills Albus Dumbledore, on the latter's instruction. McGonagall and the Heads of House consider closing the school.

Chapter 11: The Firebolt… In which Harry mulls over what he heard about Black, almost everyone has gone on holiday, HRH go to visit Hagrid, find him distraught about Buckbeak's hearing before the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures, and HRH begin seeking precedents to help Buckbeak's case. Christmas comes and Harry gets a Firebolt broom from an unknown (Black) benefactor, Crookshanks goes after Scabbers again and revives bad feelings between Ron and Hermione, dinner is taken with the teachers, and McGonagall confiscates the Firebolt to check for jinxes. Hagrid is the person who first talks about what Azkaban is really like Mrs. Weasley gives her boys a jumper every single year In 1722, a hippogriff was convicted.

Chapter 12: The Patronus… In which both Harry and Ron are angry with Hermione for reporting the Firebolt to McGonagall, Oliver Wood tries to get it back, classes resume, Lupin teaches Harry the Patronus Charm to use against Dementors, Harry asks repeatedly about his Firebolt and finally gets it back, and makes up with Hermione just as Ron finds bloody traces of what he thinks is Scabbers. SHIRTY: Annoyed/angry; “She got a bit shirty with me!” (Oliver Wood about McGonagall)
