SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY BY GEORGE GORDON Jaymie Rancourt Allyssa Wilson

LINE 1: “She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies;”

SIMILE: A COMPARISON USING LIKE OR AS She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

IMAGERY  He imagines this girl throughout the whole poem.

LINE 3: And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes;

PERSONIFICATION: ATTRIBUTION OF HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS TO THINGS, ABSTRACT IDEAS. And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
