 July 3, 1608, Samuel de Champlain settled on Quebec’s shoreline.  In 1774 the British passed the Quebec act. This allowed the colony to retain its language and customs.

 Samuel de Champlain is the founder of Quebec.  Born in Brouage, France in 1567  Nicknamed “The Father of New France
