Over-population What’s the big deal?

Is it true? “ All the people on the world could fit into a space the size of Texas.”

What is over-population? Density is NOT the issue Carrying capacity IS. An area is over-populated when it’s long-term carrying capacity is being degraded by its current occupants.

Degree of Impact 1.Number of people. 2.The ways in which 3.we manufacture goods, design communities, and use technology. 4.The resources consumed by each person.

How Americans Impact Earth Energy Natural resources Land use Global warming Water pollution Waste

The Environment Bio- diversity Habitat destruction

Population growth and rapid consumption of resources are equal parts in the problem of environmental degradation, so addressing only one of these problems will not be enough.
