In other word they describe nouns. In most sentences it goes before the word it describes the noun. It can also come after the verb.

EXAMPLE OF ADJECTIVES shiny sunny bright brown red four

We can use them in such a manner He is wearing a shiny red track suite. Shinny red is an adjective. Track suite is a noun. John runs faster than all the boys. faster is an adjective. runs is a verb.

WHAT KIND WHICH ONE HOW MANY HOW MUCH ADJECTIVES ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

To make perfect sentences follow this order: SIZE My big dog is dead. TEXTURE Thandi’s soft hair. COLOR Nsika has a brown jacket. TYPE The short man ran.

DEGREES OF ADJECTIVES: Adjectives can express degree of modification: The degrees of comparison are known as the Positive, the comparative and the superlative. The comparative and superlative show degrees; Comparative for comparing two things. Superlative for comparing three things.

Notice that the word than frequently accompanies the comparative and the word the precedes the superlative Gladys is a rich woman, but Josie is richer than Gladys, and Sadie is the richest woman in town. Comparative = suffix – er or ier Superlative = sufix – est or iest
