Biblical Husbands FIRST AND FOREMOST, a man can not be a godly husband without first being a true Christian. Why? Ephesians 5:25 tells us: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

Why embrace the bosom of another man’s wife?”

Biblical Husbands Sinful Lust 51% of you say porn is a temptation. 69% of you started looking at porn out of curiosity. 37% of you say it's currently a struggle. 53% of you have visited porn sites in the past year. 30% of you do not talk to anyone about your secret. 4 in 10 of you looked at porn today (Christianity Today, Leadership Survey of Pastors, December 2001).

Biblical Husbands Sinful Lust Why is this such a rampant issue in the church? Why is there so much fear in discussing this issue?

Biblical Husbands Poor Leadership Proverbs 11:16-17: “A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth. A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man brings trouble on himself.” Proverbs 11:29: “He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only the wind…” Proverbs 27:8: “Like a bird that strays from its nest is a man who strays from his home.”

Biblical Husbands Cultivating a Godly Wife Ephesians 5:23-28: “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.” 1 Peter 3:7: “Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” 1 Corinthians 7:3-4: “Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.”
