The Law of Reflection Smooth, shiny surfaces allow you to see an image. The angle of incidence=the angle of reflection Incident ray and reflective ray.
Types of mirror When we draw a ray diagram we represent a mirror by drawing a line with dashes on the silvered (non-shiny) side. Most mirrors are flat.

Primary mirror Secondary mirror Spectroscopy focal plane Imager focal plane Beamsplitter Fully articulated solar panels and antenna Tertiary mirror Prism & focal reducer Cassegrain focus Mike, Michael, Here is the starting point. I subsequently worked up a Filter Wheel and tweaked the Solar array. Assuming you accept the Filer Wheel as-is, the following pages are the result. I updated software since the last iteration and now have some new glitches preventing Hi-rez capture and some rendering functions (Shiny Gold foil, etc) In the meantime, here is what I have.. Comments?

Do these plots relate to the relative position limits of the Solar array and Hi-gain antenna as illustrated? ( Does this data conflict with Model as shown ? )

This is it for now, provided you like the Filter Wheel. Higher-resolution and fancy rendering will have to be another pass. Until then, the original graphics (.jpg) and movies (.avi) are available at: The videos are also posted on Youtube, Enjoy, Robin
