Research and Findings By Brandon Henley-Smith Australia’s Consumer Price Index

The C.P.I is made up of common purchased items by consumers. Education Alcohol and Tobacco Clothing and Footwear Communication Food and Beverages Furniture Health Insurance Housing Transportation Culture

 The C.P.I is reviewed four times a year  Reviewed in March (Q1), June (Q2), September (Q3) and December (Q4)

 For Urban customers CPI is convenient and keeps up to date with prices however isn’t the same for rural customers.  Being Measured four time a year can prove great accuracy when measured but can be inaccurate at the end of quarters.

 Produce Price Index is another method the RBA use to measure inflation.  P.P.I is measured by the amount of money producers earn from their products.

 Trained staff from all the states of Australia gather their Data from common retail stores, producers and Goods and Services companies.
