Arctic Polar bears By Savanna grade 4 habitat Enemies&Defense Babies Food Characteristic Where I got my Information

Habitat n Habitat n Polar bears like to live in cold places. Like the southern parts of the arctic ice caps. n They also live at the northern tips of Alaska so they can be close to where the floating ice in the water is. n Polar bears don’t like warm places.

Enemies&Defenses n The Eskimos killed polar bears. n Polar bears can smell whales from miles away. n Polar bears die every day from pollution. n When people go hunting they kill polar bears.

Babies nBaby Polar bears stay with their mommies for 2 to 5 years. n The first time polar bears have babies is when the are 5or 6 years old. nPolar bears that have borrows on land have more babies than the ones that borrow on ice. nCubs weigh about 454 to 608g.

Food n Polar bears mostly eat baby seals and walrus. n When it’s cold they mostly eat whale fat. n Sometimes in early fall or late summer they will find whale carcass. n Main foods are seal whale walrus and kelp even birds. n An adult polar usually eats one seal every six or seven day.

Characteristic n Polar bears can be active any time of day or knight looking for food. n Polar bears have water proof fur. n Polar bears are the tallest carnivore.
